Meetings
Pack 805 offers many opportunities to stay connected throughout the year.
Den Meetings
Den Meetings
Den Leaders set their Den's meeting schedule, typically 1-2 times/month. Meetings begin with The Pledge of Allegiance, Scout Oath, and Scout Law, then the scouts participate in an activity that the Den Leader has planned for them, usually related to earning a rank achievement.
Dens are separated by grade level/rank, and Pack 805 has combined gender Dens through 4th grade/Webelos I rank. Our 5th grade/Arrow of Light (Webelos II) Dens are gender-specific. This policy is per BSA's updated guidelines:
Effective June 1, 2023, family packs that serve both girls and boys may now form dens with both girls and boys in kindergarten (Lion), first grade (Tiger), second grade (Wolf), third grade (Bear) and fourth-grade Webelos dens. Fifth-grade Cub Scouts are to remain in gender-specific dens to prepare them for joining a gender-specific Scouts BSA Troop.
Pack Meetings
The third Tuesday of the month we meet as a Pack, usually in the Big Creek ES Cafeteria at 6:15pm. This is when we come together to celebrate scouting and what our scouts have learned! Our Cubmaster leads the meeting. Meetings include scout recognition, Dens performing skits, and activities and/or games. We also take this time to relay pertinent information to parents and scouts for the upcoming month.
Monthly Planning Meetings
Pack Leaders & Parents meet once a month (typically the first Tuesday), at one of the leaders house or Black Diamond Grill (1485 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041), for planning purposes and to discuss the progress of the Pack. All parents are encouraged to attend, learn, and voice their opinions and provide input. Children are welcome, as well.
RoundTable
The Etowah District holds a RoundTable the second Thursday of every month from 7:00-8:30pm at Horizon Christian Academy (1270 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040). The objectives are to provide leaders with program ideas; information on policy and events; and training opportunities. It is a forum for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other scout leaders. The round table experience is intended to inspire, motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their scouts. All leaders and parents are encouraged to attend.
